Case Management UnitCBCA is one of four partners in the East Side Case Management Consortium, which is providing DFTA-funded case management services to seniors on the Upper East Side and in East Harlem. The staff makes home visits and assists clients in accessing home-delivered meals and in-home housekeeper/personal care services.
Carter Burden Luncheon Club & Senior Program (CBLC&SP)
CBLC&SP is a senior center that provides socialization, recreation and education through meals, activities, day trips, computer training and holiday parties. Different daily activities such as yoga, art, movies, exercise and dance classes are offered for free. Congregate meals are served Monday through Friday. The senior center also provides daily and weekend home-delivered meals to seniors living in the area of 69th Street to 79th Street, Fifth Avenue to the East River.
Community Elder Mistreatment & Abuse Prevention Program (CEMAPP)
CEMAPP combats elder abuse by assisting victims and providing community education programs in the expanded geographical area of central and northern Manhattan. This innovative program, a collaboration with One Stop Senior Services, assists individuals and families who reside within six CD’s on the Upper East and Upper West Sides of Manhattan.
Social Service Unit
The Unit’s staff provides comprehensive services to both homebound and ambulatory seniors so that they can remain in their homes. Services include supportive counseling, help with benefit applications, end of life planning, crisis intervention as well as referral to other services such as visiting nurse, home-delivered meals and volunteer legal assistance.
C.V. Starr Adult Day Services
In collaboration with the Hebrew Home for the Aged at Riverdale, this program offers a recreational and therapeutic day for older adults who are experiencing memory loss and who live in Manhattan. Round-trip transportation is available for clients within certain areas of Manhattan. The daily fee is $85. The program is covered by Medicaid under the Lombardi Long Term Home Health Care Program, Guildnet and VNS Choice. The program is open 5 days per week.
Volunteer Services for the Elderly
Each year approximately 2,400 individuals volunteer their time, energy and expertise to assist their older neighbors. We offer both long-term and one-time opportunities in order to welcome volunteers from all walks of life and all ages.
Making Art Work
This program provides arts and crafts classes at senior centers throughout New York City and also at our classroom/gallery space at 307 Seventh Avenue. Plans for the immediate future include developing a virtual gallery so that artists can showcase their work.
