Reeva Mager called the meeting to order at 3:35pm and welcomed the group. There were approximately 35 members present.
Ms. Mager thanked our host, Amy Loewenberg, Director of Senior Services of the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center, for hosting today’s meeting and providing refreshments. Ms Loewenberg informed the group of the extensive services Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center provides from school children to the elderly.

From Ken Onaitis: The Jewish Home Life Care’s Professional Education Center will host 'Aging in Place and Dementia Special Care Units Conference,' Friday, May 30, 2008, 8:30am-1:30pm. A panel of speakers from the fields of gerontology and healthcare will discuss the merits of both specialized dementia units and integrated care. This program will be hosted at UJA Federation of New York (130 East 59th Street, New York NY 10022). Final Registration Fee: $35. Continuing Education Credits will be provided. Rubin Museum of Art (RMA) is pleased to announce Free Seniors Day, a special initiative to welcome older adults to participate in free admission, guided visits to the galleries, film screenings, and a 10% discount on selected items at the Shop and Café on the first Monday of each month. RMA is open from 11am–5pm on Mondays. Admission for seniors is ordinarily $7. The museum offers free admission to all visitors on Friday evenings, 7–10pm. Doris Astor, Associate Director of Educational Services at Dorot, announced a new Dorot program – "To Your Health" – an interactive teleconferencing program for older adults, providing information on health and wellness topics and offering support groups for chronic illness. Experts in their field lead each 50-minute phone session, to encourage discussion and provide vital information relevant to seniors today. Each session is interactive with participants encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences and concerns. No special phone equipment is needed.
